About me

Mathilde Irrmann

My name is Mathilde Irrmann. I am the face behind 209. I'm an actress, filmmaker and artist based in Berlin.

As a French woman working in German, English and French, languages have always been of major importance to me as they open new perspectives on the world and facilitate empathy for one another. Playing with various mediums, I explore issues and topics I believe are worth discussing like gender and social issues, language, resilience and sustainability. I believe that we are all actors of the future we wish to live in.

I studied acting and performed in theater in Strasbourg (France), notably as Juliet in Romeo and Juliet. I also completed a bachelor in Art History at Humboldt University (2022), specializing in Eastern European contemporary art. I work both in front of and behind the camera - you can see me acting in the series Bad Banks or the film Gondola (2024). In parallel, I've worked as a live editor since 2020 for political conferences, including for Berlinale and various institutions, and as a moderator, for example for the Hofer Filmtage.

I use 209 as a collaborative base for my artistic projects.
