Mathilde Irrmann is a French actress, filmmaker, moderator, live editor and curator based in Berlin. She founded Cie 209 as a collaborative base for artistic and cultural projects at the intersection of film, performance, and civic engagement.
She trained at the Conservatoire de Strasbourg (2009–2014) and holds a Bachelor's degree in Art History and Cultural Studies from Humboldt University Berlin (2022), with a specialization in Eastern European contemporary art.
On screen, she is known for her lead role in Gondola (dir. Veit Helmer, 2023), which premiered internationally, and for her recurring role in the ZDF/Arte series Bad Banks (seasons 1 & 2). Further credits include Soko Stuttgart (2022), The Lake (2022, Venice Production Bridge selection), and Ein Sommer in Südfrankreich (ZDF, 2016). As a director, she made Piensa en me (2017) and Die Shell Studie (2024).
Since 2020, she works as a live editor for major institutions and events, including Berlinale press conferences (2023–2024), the opening ceremony of 75 Jahre Grundgesetz (2024), the IPCC climate conference, Fotografiska Berlin, and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. She is also active as a moderator at film festivals including Achtung Berlin (2025) and the International Hofer Filmtage (2024–2025), as well as for artist talks and film premieres.
Committed to ecological and social issues, she has been involved with Letzte Generation and Parents for Future, and co-organized a 24-hour livestream on the Regierungsinsel in Berlin.
Languages and the spaces between cultures are at the heart of her work. Working in French, German, and English, she explores questions of gender, language, resilience, and collective futures.
